MacArthur Park in Long Beach’s Cambodia Town will reopen July 26 following a $10.5 million renovation that added new sports courts, playgrounds, seating and a walking trail after being closed for over a year. The upgrades, largely funded by an $8.5 million state grant, feature Cambodian-inspired design elements honoring the neighborhood’s cultural heritage. The city also installed a new irrigation system, fencing and planted dozens of trees as part of the improvements.
