Residential Mortgages Experience Unchanged Lending Conditions, Weaker Demand in Third Quarter

In the third quarter of 2024, residential mortgage lending conditions remained largely unchanged, with the exception of subprime loans, which experienced further tightening. Demand for most residential mortgage categories continued to weaken, particularly for subprime loans which have seen reduced demand for 17 quarters, according to the NAHB.
